Dr G O Mahony received her Bachelor of Dental science from Trinity College, Dublin in 1993. On Completion of her vocational training in Northern Ireland she moved to the United Kingdom to work in general practice.

In 1999 she took up a position as a senior house officer in The maxillo- facial department of The Leeds general infirmary where she developed her knowledge and skills in minor oral surgery and received her MFD diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons Dublin in 2001. She returned to Ireland and has continued her professional career in private practice along with carrying out minor oral surgery for the HSE. She attended a part time course in the Eastman Dental Institute and obtained a certificate in restorative dentistry in 2011. She is a member of the Irish Dental Association and has a keen interest in oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. In her spare time Dr O’Mahony is a keen sports person. She is a member of the Westwood tennis team and loves hiking, skiing and recently has taken up golf.
